Food Baby

Food

Eating is a big deal around here.
Enough that I feel like it needs it's own blog post, I guess.

We'll start with our absolute favorite meal: Ranch Chicken!

Ranch Chicken

It is so fast, easy and delicious! It's also very versatile with the sides, which is a big deal to Clayson.
We often do ranch potatoes (as pictured), rice, or garlic roasted potatoes. Usually with a few sides of vegetables as well  :)

Calzones

Once, I decided to get adventurous and made Calzones.
They were pretty good, but I'm still a fan of regular homemade pizza.

"We don't ration bacon at our house."

Clayson went on a breakfast kick, and this was not unusual to see at all.
Yes, we only have 2 people living at our house, and yes, that is all for us (mostly Clayson)

Meat!

This is what our freezer looks like.
That is all meat! (Along with some delicious homemade jam and corn.)

Olive Garden

And this is our refrigerator.
We discovered the Get One Take One deal at Olive Garden.
This fed me all week!

Cereal!

This is our pantry.
We may have a slight cereal problem on our hands....
They were all on such good deals, though, and we couldn't pass it up!

Baby

11 weeks pregnant & 38 weeks pregnant

When I took this picture in March, not many people knew I was pregnant. But those who did made sure to give me a hard time about being so big that I already had to start wearing Clayson's shirts.
Now, in September, I really am so big that I have to wear his shirts!

I have such wonderful friends and family who have thrown me baby showers!

The best part was just getting to see everyone!

My phone was dead for the family shower, so I don't have any pictures, but it was so fun as well!

Thank you to everyone who made these happen! It really meant a lot to me.

We are getting excited to meet our little one!
Less than a week left! The count-down is on!

and we still don't have a name....

Dig It Up Up Holes & Brian Regan

This weekend we went to see Brian Regan with my work to celebrate one year of Dr Cannon owning the practice.
I am so blessed to work with such great people!

Unfortunately, my body doesn't hold up very well after 9pm so we had to cut the night short and missed out on ice cream  :(
All in all, it was still a fun night though!

On a different and unrelated note:

Clayson and I like to read books together.
Our most recent book was Holes!

Clayson had never read the book before, so I was so excited for his reaction.
Sadly, I fell asleep for the the last chapters of the book, so I didn't get to see it.
(Again, that's what happens when you try to keep me up past 9:00 these days. I'm just not capable of it. )
But Clayson said he liked the book and how it ended, so I guess that's what really matters.

When we finished reading Divergent I made a surprise theme date out of it that was really fun,
so I wanted to do something similar to celebrate finishing Holes.

This one was much more low key.

Ideally we would have taken a hike to the Wind Caves or had a picnic at the Concrete Jungle, but at the moment, I lack the stamina for such physical activity. So instead, we walked around Second Damn for about 5 minutes and called it good.
Definitely similar to hiking up Big Thumb like they did in Holes, right?  :)

Then we came home and watched Holes and ate Funyuns (instead of onions), peaches, and sunflower seeds.

It's been a fun weekend.

Denver

Last weekend I went to Denver with my office for a chiropractic conference.

we made him take this picture

Our rental car was so cool! It's called a Spark, but the handwriting on the paper we were given looked like "Spank" so it was the running joke.

our first look at the spank

The drive to our apartment was exciting. This is the only way we were able to get to our hotel and I laughed so hard every time!

Imagine doing this for the first time at night.

Lyndie was my roommate.
We watched the news every night and talked to each other in our sleep  :)

Most of our time was spent in classes helping us learn how to improve our office

We were afraid of falling asleep in class, so Dr Cannon bought us all glasses with eyes so we could fall asleep safely without the instructor noticing  :)

I got an award!

it's really not that exciting because we all got awards, but whatever

We have the best doctors!

Dr Stevens & Dr Cannon

Everyone in the Spank!

It's surprisingly roomy!

We went out to eat for every meal. I don't want to eat anything for the next week.

First time at Jo's Crab Shack

Saturday night we went to see this movie:

I love our office  :)

again, this picture was forced

It's good to be home  :)

Indian Weekend

I have always loved trying new foods!
Last weekend Jana took me to try indian food!

Waiting for our food to come

Indian food!
I was really afraid of it being spicy, but it wasn't at all! I'd eat it again  :)

Outside Indian Oven

Gotta love Photoshop  <3

On the way home we stopped by Old Navy and got these awesome gloves for two dollars!
The white finger tips make it so you can use your phone still.
So cool!

Earlier that day I got these tights on sale.
This picture is mostly for mom to prove that white tights can still be fashionable.

And we listened to these guys all day.
Love me some Mumford & Sons!

We took this picture by hanging my camera on the Christmas light of a nearby tree.
Pretty impressive.

Good weekend in Logan

Foods I Am Loving

I eat these two things on a daily basis.
They are so fast, so easy, so healthy, and so good!

Number One:

Tomato
Avocado
Mozerella Cheese
(or String Cheese, if you're cheap like me)
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Salt
Balsamic Vinegar

I feel so healthy when I eat this!
I have it for lunch most days, or a snack.
It is so good!

Number 2:

Special K Red Berries
Vanilla Yogurt
Blackberries
Raspberries
Blueberries

The picture doesn't look that appetizing, but it is delicious!
Perfect for breakfast, lunch or a quick snack.

p.s.  berries are on sale 3 for $5! Gotta love Lee's  :)

Good Foods Friday

Last Friday we had a "Good Foods Friday"

It was a party!

We only had one minor incident....

I was put in charge of documenting the event.
(I'm not even just saying that, I really was!)

I decided to take on the extra task of entertainment as well.

We played frisbee, and only had it go over the fence a few times.

Waiting for the food to cook

The finished product!
It was delicious.

So happy  :)

Best Tradition Ever

I started a new tradition and I love it:
Friday night Slumber Party / Saturday morning Temple trip!

Best tradition ever, am I right?
I'm right.

.  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .

We decided to start our Friday night off with some Free Panda Express!

Unfortunately, I didn't notice the "pm" after the 9 and we were a little early.
We ate anyway and it was delicious!

Next on the agenda was slack lining!

Jana is so cute setting it up

Carlie is the expert slack liner

I have had friends try to get me to slack line before, but for some reason it is so scary to me!

We started out holding onto each other for balance

Then we graduated on to holding a rope

Melanie

I actually got to the point where I could take a few steps without using the rope!

Chelsey

Then we really started having fun!

We played Chicken and I was pretty good.
Just sayin'

Jana in the tree, holding the rope

Chelsey climbing up the tree

planking on the slack line - that is real talent right there!

so graceful

doing tricks....

on handed!
classic

After our slack lining adventure, we went back to my place for the sleep over.
We got out our extra mattresses and the pillow talk began!

Carlie and Jana officially have me hooked on these two songs

I now love just about anything by The Wailin' Jennys
I made everyone at work listen to them on Thursday.

I have listened to this song more times than I can keep track.
I may be slightly obsessed.

Can't think of a better way to start the weekend off!

.  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .

See, I told you it's the best tradition ever

:)
