Hey! It's me again.
I just wanted to say....

I got a new photography website!

I'm pretty excited about it.

Click on the link above, or the picture to see my amazing website  :)

Maybe you should head over and check it out.
And then tell everyone about it!
And then book a session for yourself  :)

Ok, thanks.

Bye!

P.S.  I need to give a HUGE thank you to my amazingly awesome and wonderful husband who is so incredibly supportive and always willing to help and encourage and do whatever it is I need. He is the best.

And he will probably wish that I didn't put this on here  :)

Ok, I'm done for reals now.

Crunch Time!

It is crunch time for us to get ready for this baby!

We finally finished the nursery and I love it so much!

Thank you to everyone who helped contribute to it.
Especially Clayson for his patience and help with all "my" little projects that he did most of the work for.
How did I get so lucky to have him?

Saturday, we went on our last date before our little boy comes.

We started with going to the Pupuseria El Salvador for lunch and I actually really enjoyed it!

Then we played a round of miniature golf.
I was in the lead for most of the game, but Clayson made an impressive comeback and I ended up loosing by 2 points.
I'm pretty sure this is the closest I've ever come to winning!

We celebrated with popsicles and then drove around looking at houses, just for fun.

I loved it  :)

39 weeks

Now bring on this baby!

Making the Bed

Growing up, I never made my bed. I just didn't see the point. I was going to get back into bed again in a few hours, so why waste my time making it every morning when it would just get messed up again. Despite my moms attempts to help me understand the vast significance of making my bed, it made no sense to me and could not be justified, so I refused to do it.

my bed in college

Then I went to college and roomed with Krisann. She always made her bed. Even better, she would make my bed! But then I felt bad that she always had to make my bed for me, so I started doing it. And then I understood why anyone would ever want to make their bed every single morning. There is just something about it that starts your morning off right. Things are in order. It looks nice. I don't know, it's a mental thing, but I grew to love making my bed and I very rarely don't make my bed now.

.  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .

Then I got married.

(The first minute of this is a joke about pillows on the bed.
You can continue listening if you want, but it has no relation to this post.)

I had never seen Clayson's bed made neatly. His mom told me he has never made his bed and I shouldn't hold out hope. He shares the same feelings I had growing up of making the bed being a waste of time. Although I no longer agree with him, I fully understand where he is coming from, because it was once me as well.

Guess what?
Our bed is almost always made.

Guess what else?
More often, I am not the one making it.

And on those few occasions that it is not made, guess whose fault it is?
Mine.

There was no big argument, or discussion, or agreement.
No big hoop-la about it at all.

Clayson knows that I like the bed made, so he makes the bed
(He also knows that if he doesn't do it, I will, and I'm usually already running late getting to work)

I know that every time he makes the bed, it is purely for me because he could care less about it.

This is the kind of person the he is.

Our unspoken agreement: When he makes the bed, he gets to arrange the pillows any way he wants.

Clayson's greatest pillow creation "The Backwards Bed"

We have been making the bed together for a whole year now!
I am so blessed that he is mine forever  <3

Dig It Up Up Holes & Brian Regan

This weekend we went to see Brian Regan with my work to celebrate one year of Dr Cannon owning the practice.
I am so blessed to work with such great people!

Unfortunately, my body doesn't hold up very well after 9pm so we had to cut the night short and missed out on ice cream  :(
All in all, it was still a fun night though!

On a different and unrelated note:

Clayson and I like to read books together.
Our most recent book was Holes!

Clayson had never read the book before, so I was so excited for his reaction.
Sadly, I fell asleep for the the last chapters of the book, so I didn't get to see it.
(Again, that's what happens when you try to keep me up past 9:00 these days. I'm just not capable of it. )
But Clayson said he liked the book and how it ended, so I guess that's what really matters.

When we finished reading Divergent I made a surprise theme date out of it that was really fun,
so I wanted to do something similar to celebrate finishing Holes.

This one was much more low key.

Ideally we would have taken a hike to the Wind Caves or had a picnic at the Concrete Jungle, but at the moment, I lack the stamina for such physical activity. So instead, we walked around Second Damn for about 5 minutes and called it good.
Definitely similar to hiking up Big Thumb like they did in Holes, right?  :)

Then we came home and watched Holes and ate Funyuns (instead of onions), peaches, and sunflower seeds.

It's been a fun weekend.

Reunited, and it feels so good!

Roommates Reunited!

We were in the unique situation of having two of my roommates marry two of Clayson's roommates all within a month of us getting married.
As you can imagine, after going through dating, engagement, and now married life together, we have all gotten pretty close.

Matching pajamas!
Also, Clayson & I both slept on that couch all night. That was fun.

Now that we all live in different places throughout Utah, we try to get together every few months.
This time we went to Carlie's cabin!

apparently, Jana and I didn't get the memo that this was a funny picture

We played Murder in the Dark, Signs, the spoon game, made egg & sausage McMuffins, had Ping Pong competitions, and talked to our hearts content.
It was lovely.

Tyler & Carlie match!

When it was time to leave the cabin we , along with Carlie and Tyler, decided that we weren't quite done having fun together.
We got 7-11 hot chocolate/slurpys and got a pizza at Pizza Man.

Carlie putting a giant cue-tip up Clayson's nose

Clsyson & I still weren't ready to go home yet, so we spontaneously decided to go to Carlie & Tyler's for games and dinner.
We finished off the night at the Nickel Arcade.

It was so good to see all these people again!
We can't wait for our next little reunion  :)

Just because I like this picture: This is from our front porch - no filter

Come To Me My Sweetest Friend

This song gets sung a lot at our house:

(There may be one slightly pornographic part in this video. I apologize. Please be responsible and shield your own eyes)

Like at least every day.
Sometimes multiple times a day.

With various word changes and substitutions.

And it makes me happy.

:)

That's all.

Getting Crafty

I am not a crafty person.

Crafts, to me, translates into a lot of money and time that could be spent doing something cheaper and less messy.
Pretty pessimistic, I know.

But, I am pleased to say that my tune may be changing!

One of our wedding presents was a window frame with vinyl lettering on the glass,
but sadly, the glass was broken, so now we just had the window frame.
I decided this was my perfect opportunity to get crafty!

I went through a lot of options of what I could do with the frame:

pinterest

We ruled out anything with words pretty quick because we got a lot of wordy gifts - really cute gifts that I love and used them all,
but we really didn't need to add another.

pinterest

The wreath idea meant I had to find a wreathe that I actually liked and then it had to fit in our frame.
It just seemed like more work than it was worth.

pinterest

I liked the idea of hanging pictures, but Clayson said we already had too many pictures.

pinterest

Clayson really liked the idea of a chalk board,
but to me a chalk board translates into cute artsy pictures and typography, which I lack the motivation for.
Also, it would probably end up being more words, which was the first thing we ruled out.

So, it looked like we had eliminated all possible options.
It was kind of discouraging.

But then inspiration struck.
We put metal in it!

It sounds weird, but our fridge is not magnetic (Crazy, I know!) so we had no place to put our cute magnets and announcements or whatever.

Also, did you know that you can write on metal with dry erase marker??
We haven's gotten any yet, but we will! Then Clayson can still draw to his hearts content  :)

fun fact: there are at least 8 wedding presents in this picture

I feel so crafty!

Clayson keeps reminding me that all I did was buy a piece of metal, but baby steps! Right?

I'm so proud  :)
