We are the Searles, and we have a problem....

We eat a lot of tomatoes around here.

We eat them in salad, spaghetti, sliced with salt and pepper, or any other way we can think of to work it into our meal.

It has become excessive to the point that we are consciously trying to cut back on our tomato intake.

We tried only buying 3 tomatoes on Saturday instead of the usual 5 for the week.
I broke down on Tuesday and bought 3 more.

We're addicts!

I told Clayson I was blogging about our excessive tomato intake and he said "What do you mean? I only got 7 this time!"
He was dead serious.

Our addiction is getting worse!

Don't they have a Tomatoes Anonymous we could attend?

Foods I Am Loving

I eat these two things on a daily basis.
They are so fast, so easy, so healthy, and so good!

Number One:

Tomato
Avocado
Mozerella Cheese
(or String Cheese, if you're cheap like me)
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Salt
Balsamic Vinegar

I feel so healthy when I eat this!
I have it for lunch most days, or a snack.
It is so good!

Number 2:

Special K Red Berries
Vanilla Yogurt
Blackberries
Raspberries
Blueberries

The picture doesn't look that appetizing, but it is delicious!
Perfect for breakfast, lunch or a quick snack.

p.s.  berries are on sale 3 for $5! Gotta love Lee's  :)

Slightly Obsessed

Wouldn't he be the best guy to have in the cast?
He could fill in for any of the parts if someone was sick or needed a vacation of something.

I think he should be Javert.

Déjà vu?

Once upon a time I went bowling, and met this kid named Trevor. He is friends with Bryson, who was dating my roommate Brittany at the time (they are now married). And then I never saw or even thought about Trevor again.
The End

Did you enjoy that?
Oh good, cause there's a sequel  :)

Fast forward about 10 months - I have this friend named Cullen. He is friends with.... Trevor! Yep, the very same.

This is Trevor

Trevor is now going to PT school in Las Vegas, but was visiting Cullen for the week.
I actually recognized him, which is saying something cause I forget everyone. He remembered me after I reminded him.
We rekindled our beautiful friendship and relived the good ol' days.

Trevor & Cullen

We started with a dutch oven dinner with friends that was so good!

part of the hockey group

Next was the USU hockey game against San Diego. We won!

Troy was there too!

While we were there, Brittany and Bryson came to meet up with Trevor and I was there to surprise them!
It was so fun to see them again! I haven't seen them since they got married about 5 months ago. I just love them.

We also went to the hockey game Friday night. We won this game too!
I have suddenly become quite the hockey fan  :)

After the game, Brittany, Bryson, Cullen (who is also friends with Bryson), Trevor and I went bowling!

I was so stylish

The whole time I felt like I was having deja vu (except we replaced Katelyn with Cullen).
I even took some of the same pictures in memory of the last time we went bowling.

Last time, I spent a good portion of the night trying to get a picture with Bryson.
This time, I got it first thing, before he knew what I was trying to do.

what a great picture of us  :)
And a few more pictures for good measure

typical....
such a fun night

Maybe we can rekindle our friendship in another 3 month-ish when Trevor comes to visit Logan again.
Life has a weird way of coming back around.

Much better friends the second time around

Toilet Miracle

Ever since I moved into Bridgerland, there has been this nasty black mold stuff growing around the inside of my toilet.

I hate cleaning bathrooms, so I keep pushing it away, but I knew I would have to face it one day.

Friday night (or Saturday morning) I got to bed late (or maybe it would be early?). The toilet was so gross to me, but I wasn't going to clean it at 2:00 in the morning! In a desperate attempt, I grabbed some Clorox from under the sink and sprayed a few squirts in the toilet. I laughed at myself as I went to bed, thinking how ridiculous it was to think that those few squirts would make a difference.

In the morning, I was astounded! My toilet was clean! there wasn't even a trace of the nasty black stuff left in the bowl!

It was a toilet miracle!

I wish I would have gotten a before and after picture!

I never knew cleaning the toilet was so easy.
It might just be my new favorite job.

I'm trying it out on the bathtub next!

Family

My dad called me Friday afternoon as he was eating his lunch and asked what I was doing. I told him I had just finished getting ready for the day that I had no plans for and that I was about to eat breakfast. (we have very different lives) We decided to make a trip to Draper to see my grandparents and have a relaxing weekend with them, just sitting around and talking. Six hours later, we were knocking on their door for a joyous surprise.

I was happy to discover that Donny, Leslie and Troy were also in Draper that weekend! While we did do a lot of sitting around and talking (which is probably my favorite part of any time my family gets together) we also went to Alyssa's soccer game, Hunter's Clayton performance at Gateway where we also did some shopping, and In & Out (my first time eating there, and it was good - at least once we got my order figured out, haha)

We also watched a lot of basketball and I finally fount the basketball fan within me.
Go Oklahoma! Kevin Durant is the man, and Kobe Bryant drives me nuts!

Unfortunately, there are no pictures of our fun times, but my camera has been found!!! Now I just need to charge it up again and we are back in business! No more wordy pictureless blog posts! Everyone rejoice!
(Just kidding, I'm sure there will be plenty more of those posts, but hopefully not as many)

A few weeks ago my family was all in Draper for Madison's wedding, which was so much fun! Please feel free to visit my photography blog to see pictures! I love that our family is all so close and that we are so blessed to see each other so often! There are no age barriers, we all just blend together. They are some of my best friends.

p.s.  You can also visit my website that I desperately need to update. Especially if I'm planning on renewing it, which I need to decide by the end of this month....

Oh Food!

I realize that my last post was about food, but apparently I really like it. These are the only pictures on my camera from the last two weeks or so. haha!

I found this recipe for Baked Creamy Chicken Taquitos from a friends blog. They are so easy to make and so good! You can even make the filling ahead and then just make the taquitos as you please. Best meal ever!

Honestly, who can resist that!? The recipe calls for pepper jack cheese, but because I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy things, I think I'll try monterey jack cheese next time.

If the taquitos aren't doin' it for ya, maybe some delicious Strawberry Delight will do you good! Britt and I made this for "Tetris & a Treat" Friday night.

Delicious!

And in case you're not into food quite as much as I am, here is a song to lighten your mood  :)
