We are the Searles, and we have a problem....

We eat a lot of tomatoes around here.

We eat them in salad, spaghetti, sliced with salt and pepper, or any other way we can think of to work it into our meal.

It has become excessive to the point that we are consciously trying to cut back on our tomato intake.

We tried only buying 3 tomatoes on Saturday instead of the usual 5 for the week.
I broke down on Tuesday and bought 3 more.

We're addicts!

I told Clayson I was blogging about our excessive tomato intake and he said "What do you mean? I only got 7 this time!"
He was dead serious.

Our addiction is getting worse!

Don't they have a Tomatoes Anonymous we could attend?

Movie Reviews

It has been a week full of movies!

First up: Mona Lisa Smile

I seriously love this movie so much! However, I will say up front that a lot of people do not like this movie. It is not one to watch passively.
All the characters are so deep and it makes you stop and think (or at least it should). I'm still thinking about it! One of my all time favorites.

Next up: Ramona & Beezus

Such a cute movie! I may or may not have cried - like tears streaming down my face crying.
I had to take a few minutes after it ended to collect myself so I could see through my tears to drive home safely. It's just so sweet!
Granted, I'm pretty sure I was overly emotional that day (I honestly don't know why) and if you watched it you would probably laugh at me for crying.... which, again, I may or may not have done....

Moving on: Pacific Rim

After institute Spencer invited us to see Pacific Rim.
I said I had never even heard of it before. His response: "Just go with no expectations and it will be good."
You probably shouldn't pay eight dollars something cents for a movie you have no expectations for. But apparently I did!
The whole idea of a giant robot punching a dinosaur in battle, most of which took place in the ocean, was just a bit much for me.
It was fun to be out with friends....

On a better note: Despicable Me 2

We went to the drive in to see Despicable Me 2 which makes any movie better! Both the movie and atmosphere were a lot of fun.
Agent Lucy Wilde kind of reminds me of Sierra  :)

Last, but not least: New in Town

A heart warming film, slightly Hallmark-esque. It will make you smile  :)

It's been a good movie week.

.  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .

p.s.  I promise I do other things with my life besides just watch movies.
We also went night climbing this week! That was an adventure, and I have the scrapes and blood to prove it!

Addiction

Remember this post?

I'm hooked!

And I'm pretty good, if I do say so myself.
(At least when I'm playing against John, Bill and Lisa)

Vegas, here I come!

Conference & Princesses

Confession: I don't think I got a thing out of General Conference.
(ok, maybe I got a little.... maybe)

Addy sat with me for a good portion of Conference. She was so good and quiet the whole time!

I went home for Conference, and Logan & Rachel came too. It was so much fun! But with 4 - 8 kids running around (Ty & Cambria were there too) and feeling like I was drugged on sleeping pills, it was a loosing fight from the get-go.

This picture is for Trevor. You know I've been working hard on that face  :)
Also, this is what I look like with no shower for 2 days, not doing my hair or washing my face, no makeup, still in pajamas.... basically all loss of hygiene.
Attractive.

Don't get me wrong, I really do love conference and I'm so sad I wasn't able to be more attentive. I am definitely looking forward to the General Conference issue of the Ensign to come out. You better believe it will be read cover to cover!

This chair was like a kid magnet!

Durring Priesthood session, my mom, Rachel, and Cambria decided to go to the Deseret Book thing (I don't really know what it was....) This left Sierra and me to watch 8 kids under the age of 5. I have to say, it was probably one of the easiest babysitting experiences I've had! We watched Snow White and then made Princesses.

Believe it or not, we actually watched all of Snow White like this.

I made up the name "Princesses" When I made these with Evelyn for the first time. She loves Princesses and I knew if I called them that she would be 12 times more excited than if I just called them Hugged Pretzels. They are the perfect treat to make with kids!

Princess
Pretzel = Throne
Hug = Princess
M&M = Crown

For some reason, I can't cook for people anymore. I ruin it every time.
They were still ok and they all got eaten, but they just weren't as good as they should have been.

For the record, I promise I really can cook!

Journal vs Blog

There was a time when I was an awesome journal writer.
All through high school and all the way until about November 4, 2010

What happened on that fateful day?
And nearly all journal writing ceased from that day on.

November 17, 2012 I decided it was time to bring the journal back.

Isn't it cute  :)

You may notice that about that time my blog posts have been pretty lame for the most part.
I just can't do both!

I am proud to report, however, that (other than trips when I'm not home) I have not missed a single day of writing in my journal!

Lesson

I got called to be a teacher and it is horrifying! Everyone keeps telling me that it will get easier, but they are lying. It is horrifying every sunday.

As if I wasn't already scared to death, our stake decided to change the way lessons work and did away with the teaching manual. Now I have a topic, such as "The Godhead" and I have free reign from there. I think this is a little too much freedom for my liking.

The up side is that I get to spend a little extra time learning about my Heavenly Father, my Savior, and my potential. (Sounds pretty selfish. Probably because it is.) Maybe, if I'm lucky, I can share a little of that with those I teach. Maybe....

This is a clip I would like to share for my next lesson, but my room doesn't get internet, so I won't be able to. So, you can enjoy it here!

Instead of the movie, I think I'll measure people's bodies instead.
Sounds like fun to me  :)

Coeur d' Alene Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving I went to Coeur d' Alene with my parents and sister to visit my brother and his cute family. Love them!

One of my favorite parts was the annual gingerbread house competition. We split into two teams and put our creativity to work! I am now going to be lazy and give you an excerpt from my brother's blog:

"And of course, we had our Annual Gingerbread House Contest! This is where you come in. We have two teams. We'll call them "Team A" and "Team B." Please look at both, read the descriptions, and then VOTE by leaving a comment on this blog or on one our our Facebook pages. Really, we have a full year of bragging rights at stake here, so don't take this lightly."

Please vote! I need those bragging rights, people  :)

You can vote on my blog or facebook as well. I'll post the winner in after all the votes have been counted.

Guys, this is so fun!

ok

Well, I was going to write more about how great Thanksgiving was and post pictures on here, but apparently I am "out of space" again.
Lame!

But if you want to see some disgusting pictures of me (I loose all hygiene when I travel) and my cute nieces and nephew, you can just read my brother's blog for that too. He's a better writer than I am anyway.

oh yeah, and one more thing....

(All links in this post will lead you to the same place, where you can vote.... or here on my blog. or my facebook)
(In case you didn't know, anything yellow is a link)
(And here's the link again, if you still haven't voted)

Thank you and goodnight.
