Picture Overload!

As you can see, I finally got my pictures to load!

Brigham City Temple open house

I think that's pretty self explanatory

Cherise gives her mission farewell talk
She is going to Canada!

Can you just feel the excitement from her? Haha! Just kidding, she really was excited. I have no doubt that Cherise Amazing King is living up to her name and is an amazing missionary.

This was such a fun trip because these were my roommates my last semester at BYU-Idaho!
(minus the freshman and not counting my real last semester when I moved home because all my friends had already graduated)

I hadn't seen Krista in a long time and it was good to catch up with her and bring her up to speed on everyones lives.

We have had so many fun times together, and obviously, those fun times aren't stopping any time soon  :)

Cafe Sabor

Here We Glow

Spencer, Chelsey, Ashlee and Cullen ready to start the run!

Melissa and I were the best cheerleaders ever!

p.s.  I took Melissa's place at Bridgerland when she moved out. It was so fun to have her come back to visit!

The whole group after the race. Everyone did so good!

Leafing

Autumn is so gorgeous in Logan!

Cullen invited Chelsey and me to go on a "short hike to go check out the leafs" which interpreted to be and easy hike. Boy, was I wrong!
I should probably start doing something to stay in better shape.

I was planning on bringing my Nikon to take pictures of the Fall colors, but as usual, I forgot it.
Cullen remembered his Cannon (he's an art guy too) but forgot his SD card.
We are just awesome like that.

On the way back, we found these glasses on the side of the trail like this. Random!

Of course, we had Cullen try them on.

Football

After the General Relief Society Broadcast, Cate and I decided to go to the Utah State football game. We decided this a little late, so it was already the fourth quarter by the time we got there. Utah State was already winning by so much that a lot of people were already leaving when we got there. We went to go in, but the lady told us the stadium had already reached student capacity, so they couldn't let us in, even though half the students had already left. What? After sorting through all our options, we decided the best option would be to climb the fence. We will support out team!

Construction

There are more town homes being built next to us

Someone put a pirate flag in the middle of it.

It makes a great playground for the neighborhood kids

Rock Climbing

Chelsey and I went rock climbing with Cullen and Spencer

It was Chelsey's first time rock climbing

She was so good!

I got engaged!

 I love conference brunch!

Food

But I can definitely let my food supply run low.
This is everything I had on my shelf.... and that butter expired in June.

Lost

I've started watching Lost.
It's ok.

Soccer

Dutch Oven

Cullen made the best dutch oven chicken and potatoes! Seriously, so good!
And of course, no dutch oven night could be complete without cobbler.
Delicious!

I Am Available!

It is quickly becoming the joke that I will do anything these days because "I have no life!" and "I am available!"

The sad thing is how true it is.

It has actually been really good for me though! I have gone out and done things that I normally would have passed by, simply because I was desperate for human interaction and getting out of the house.

When Kandace and I lived together she would tell me she could tell when I had been alone all day because I would pounce on her the second she walked in the door and be super over excited about life. That's pretty much how I am every day now. haha! My poor roommates  :)

I need people!

Anyway, I have actually made good use with my down time, specifically with my editing process and doing more with Lightroom.
Go to my photography blog to see my "new style"

p.s.  you may be noticing that there has been a shortage of pictures on this blog. yeah.... my blog is malfunctioning and won't let me post any.
one day there will be pictures again. hopefully sooner rather than later....

Are You Eating?

As much as I know my parents would love it, I have never been one to call home very often.
I feel good about myself if I remember to call home once a week on Sunday.

However, I think it's safe to say that these past few weeks, I have talked to my parents more than the rest of my life combined!
(ok, maybe just a slight exaggeration, but it's been a lot!)

My favorite part of every conversation is

"Are you eating?"

It inevitably comes.
Every time.

I promise, I am eating!
But it makes me feel good that they are concerned about me.

I also know that my Heavenly Father is concerned about me and is very aware of me.
This is such a huge blessing and I am overwhelmed with gratitude.

I have had this song running through my head all week - or more specifically, this line.

"I still feel like I'm where I'm supposed to be
Don't forget to remember me"

I am so blessed to know that I am where I'm supposed to be at this time in my life,
and more importantly, that I am never forgotten.

"Don't Forget To Remember Me"

18 years had come and gone
For momma they flew by
But for me they drug on and on
We were loading up that Chevy
Both tryin' not to cry
Momma kept on talking
Putting off good-bye
Then she took my hand and said
"Baby don't forget:

Before you hit the highway
You better stop for gas
And there's a 50 in the ashtray
In case you run short on cash
Here's a map and here's a Bible
If you ever lose your way

Just one more thing before you leave
Don't forget to remember me"

This downtown apartment sure makes me miss home
and those bills there on the counter
Keep telling me I'm on my own
And just like every Sunday I called momma up last night
And even when it's not, I tell her everything's all right
Before we hung up I said
"Hey momma, don't forget:

to tell my baby sister I'll see her in the fall
And tell me-maw that I miss her
Yeah, I should give her a call
And make sure you tell Daddy that I'm still his little girl
Yeah I still feel like I'm where I'm supposed to be
Don't forget to remember me"

Tonight I find myself kneeling by the bed to pray
I haven't done this in a while
So I don't know what to say but
Lord, I feel so small sometimes in this big ol' place
Yeah, I know theres more important things, but
Don't forget to remember me

Don't forget to remember me

Excess of Beds

We have an excess of beds at our house.

Six to be exact.

They can be found in the garage, loft, as well as under my bed.

I think it would be fun to lay them all out next to each other and have a giant slumber party!

Why am I telling you about our extra beds?

1. Because I think it is utterly ridiculous that we have that many beds just laying around
2. Because, although it is ridiculous, it's also a fun fact and kind of exciting
3. Because the bed under my bed finally got used last week!

Kandace came to visit!

It was so much fun!

Cherise came from Brigham City to have dinner with us and then we skyped Porter and Patux.
It was such a fun night!

I think Kandace's post sums it up pretty well:  Sour cream misfortunes, peanut butter ice cream, 12th ward recollections, ukeleles, awkward hugs, beds and laundry, smooth kissable skin, and sweet conversations [German accents/cultural diversity, cheek instruments, and Allison's song] Ah, good night! :)

Porter and Kandace tried to recreate the "Allison Song" but you just can't recreate genius like that.
Here is the original (again) because it never fails to make me happy every time I listen to it  :)

Come back Kandace!

My six extra beds are feeling lonely.

What's Going On

I guess it's about time I update this thing. In my defense, I do have a reason for not being on here! That reason is that I have not had a computer to update on because mine decided to completely crash.

Long story short, I ended up getting a completely new hard drive and in the process, the computer people accidentally reset my computer to last year. That means that anything I have done in the last year is gone. That also includes the updates to my Adobe programs and Microsoft Word.

Awesome.

Ok, so I guess it isn't 100% gone. (except the program updates really are gone) They gave me my old hard drive back (yeah, the one that is crashed and moving slower than snail) and this fancy thing that I hook up to my computer so I can manually move everything from the last year back over to my computer. I know you're thinking, "that is a lot of stuff to move over by hand!" But let me put it in perspective for you - The other day I decided to watch You've Got Mail while I transferred things. By the time I finished the movie I has successfully transferred six pictures. Six! So as bad as you thought it would be when you heard I had to do a year's worth by hand, it will probably, in actual reality, be about twelve times worse than that.

The other big thing that has been happening is that I am on the job hunt! That is a story that I will not get into on here, but most of the people who actually read my blog already know about this, so I don't feel the need to get worked up about it. Suffice it to say that it was not right and I'm pretty sure everyone, including my co-workers, are fully aware of that fact.

Other than the fact that I no longer have a job and my computer has been problematic (oh yeah, and now my printer is messed up too) life has actually been a lot of fun! And I'm not just saying tht, it really has been great!

I went home for our "family reunion" and did the fun run! Well,  my dad did the the 5k (I think) and the rest of us did the mile fun run.

They started off the race by saying "ok kiddos!" and proceeded to explain how there would be a grown up at every corner to help us know where to go. This is my kind of race!

Grandma and I were perfect partners for each other. We even stopped along the way to take pictures! We were most excited about getting the official marathon T-shirt because we knew it was our only chance at getting one.

Back in Logan, we got a new bishopric! My bishop definitely knows who I am and greets me with a smile every time I see him! He even almost knows my name! Who knows, if I'm lucky I may even get a calling!

Our ward has changed up a ton and I am meeting so many new people and doing fun things.

Ward opening social
Potluck dinner
I finally found an Institute class where I feel comfortable parking on the parking lot!
Soccer games - Don't get too excited, I just watch

For Labor Day my family came to visit! We did all the exciting things there are to do in Logan -

Willow Park Zoo (AKA the Bird Zoo)
Lunch at Formosa
Nap time while Troy attempted to fix my printer
River walk and climbing up the Dam

So.... probably not the most exciting trip ever, but I am so glad they came! I love my Family  :)

So, the bottom line is that life is good!
And I should start blogging again so I don't have a million things to catch up on.

The End.
