Patience

I feel like patience is being forced upon me in all aspects of my life wether I like it or not!

Patience at work
(some patients can really try my patience!)

Patience in my calling

Patience with roommates

Patience in dating

Patience with the internet
(it's been spotty and was completely down for the past day and a half!)

Patience with the temperature

Patience with myself

Patience

Patience

Patience

I never realized I was such an impatient person!

Apparently this is a lesson I really need to learn.
Hopefully I learn it soon so I can move on with the next lesson!

There I go being impatient again....

p.s.  patience is a weird word when you say it this many times.

Addiction

Remember this post?

I'm hooked!

And I'm pretty good, if I do say so myself.
(At least when I'm playing against John, Bill and Lisa)

Vegas, here I come!

Conference & Princesses

Confession: I don't think I got a thing out of General Conference.
(ok, maybe I got a little.... maybe)

Addy sat with me for a good portion of Conference. She was so good and quiet the whole time!

I went home for Conference, and Logan & Rachel came too. It was so much fun! But with 4 - 8 kids running around (Ty & Cambria were there too) and feeling like I was drugged on sleeping pills, it was a loosing fight from the get-go.

This picture is for Trevor. You know I've been working hard on that face  :)
Also, this is what I look like with no shower for 2 days, not doing my hair or washing my face, no makeup, still in pajamas.... basically all loss of hygiene.
Attractive.

Don't get me wrong, I really do love conference and I'm so sad I wasn't able to be more attentive. I am definitely looking forward to the General Conference issue of the Ensign to come out. You better believe it will be read cover to cover!

This chair was like a kid magnet!

Durring Priesthood session, my mom, Rachel, and Cambria decided to go to the Deseret Book thing (I don't really know what it was....) This left Sierra and me to watch 8 kids under the age of 5. I have to say, it was probably one of the easiest babysitting experiences I've had! We watched Snow White and then made Princesses.

Believe it or not, we actually watched all of Snow White like this.

I made up the name "Princesses" When I made these with Evelyn for the first time. She loves Princesses and I knew if I called them that she would be 12 times more excited than if I just called them Hugged Pretzels. They are the perfect treat to make with kids!

Princess
Pretzel = Throne
Hug = Princess
M&M = Crown

For some reason, I can't cook for people anymore. I ruin it every time.
They were still ok and they all got eaten, but they just weren't as good as they should have been.

For the record, I promise I really can cook!

Birthday Boys!

March has been a month full of birthdays!

The Birthday Boys!

Last weekend was the birthday of two of my favorite guys!

Cullen, Tony, and Trevor blowing out the candles

Sunday, we had a little party for them. Tony got to join in the fun as well because his Birthday was that week too! Lucky guy.

Monday was the real day of celebration. We decided to celebrate Cullen and Trevor by getting Tim Tams at Pepperidge Farm, all you can eat Sushi, and a little climbing to top it off. The perfect day.

Cullen and I were so excited because we had never been to Pepperidge before! Sadly, we were disappointed by what we found - a tiny store with mostly ordinary plain brown cardboard boxes and no Tim Tams. So sad.

Picture Fail! (like the rest of our day)
our garbage tower with Cullen and Kristen trying to get out of the picture

Undaunted, we proceded on to Sushi. We pulled up and there was a sign taped to the door "Sorry, We're Closed"
That's all. No other explanation. Just closed.

Discouraged after our double fail of Pepperidge and Sushi, we decided to make the best of it and went to Rumbi instead. It was delicious!

Determined to have something go right of the birthday plans, we proceeded to the Rock Haus for some climbing. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best day of climbing we've ever had. I had a headache and it was mostly just an off day for all of us. Oh well, what can you do.

It was still a great day  :)

Trevor and I decided to make Cullen a birthday pie because it's his favorite.

it's a creation of beauty - In both looks and taste!
look at that crust! It's latticed!

If you can't tell, I'm kind of proud of our pie  :)

Cullen liked the pie too.

Happy Birthday!
Thanks for letting me join in on the fun.

Bring It!

When I was about 12 I started climbing with my older brother, Logan, who was about 18 at the time. I am amazed that he (or the people who worked there!) ever trusted me to belay him. Every time he fell I would go flying up and we would meet half way, but I never let him fall!

Just before Logan left on his mission, he and my dad took me climbing outside for the first time. I made it to the top without much problem, but it took at least 20 minutes to get me to back down. I still hate having to come down. It terrifies me to have to let go of the rock and let someone else hold my life in their hands. I hate not having control.

Once my brother left, I kept climbing here and there, but nothing much. In college, I took a rock climbing class with my cousin. We had so much fun! I started climbing more with friends, but I was never consistent.

Now that I don't have school and homework to worry about anymore, I have finally decided to start climbing on a more regular basis and maybe even get good at it! This week I climbed my first 5.10! I've been working towards it for a while, so it was pretty exciting. I felt so energized, like I could take on anything! Bring it on!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I know I'm a little late for the whole "New Years Resolution" post, and I don't believe in setting goals anyway, but I do have a few thoughts on the year 2013. If you tilt your head to the side and squint a little, you can kind of see the relation to rock climbing. I guess I could explain it a little better, but I need to get back to work and don't have time, and I'm not good with words anyway. Just use your imagination and draw your own conclusions  :)

For me, the year of 2013 has been about pushing myself - going out of my comfort zone, trying new things, letting go a little and giving up control, pushing myself a little harder to go a little farther.

Let me tell you, it is not always easy, and it is definitely scary

I find myself wondering, "Is it really worth it?"
Every time the answer is "Yes!"

I am so grateful for the experiences that I have been able to have and the ways that I have grown.

2013, bring it on!

blogging for the sake of blogging

I feel the need to blog, but honestly, I'm not really wanting to.

Suffice it to say that this Presidents Day weekend was pretty amazing and I wanted it to go on forever!

It was good.
:)

Blog: Check!

Sleep Over!

Last night we made good use of our extra beds and had a sleep over!

we had fun "unlocking the vault" and creating projects/operations for us to work on  :)

We somehow managed to fit 6 beds into my room.

It was quite the accomplishment

This is the after math

Love these girls!

On a different note, we have the cutest neighbors ever! This is Jake shoveling our walk for us.
And yes, he is wearing shorts and cowboy boots.

I love my life  <3

Déjà vu?

Once upon a time I went bowling, and met this kid named Trevor. He is friends with Bryson, who was dating my roommate Brittany at the time (they are now married). And then I never saw or even thought about Trevor again.
The End

Did you enjoy that?
Oh good, cause there's a sequel  :)

Fast forward about 10 months - I have this friend named Cullen. He is friends with.... Trevor! Yep, the very same.

This is Trevor

Trevor is now going to PT school in Las Vegas, but was visiting Cullen for the week.
I actually recognized him, which is saying something cause I forget everyone. He remembered me after I reminded him.
We rekindled our beautiful friendship and relived the good ol' days.

Trevor & Cullen

We started with a dutch oven dinner with friends that was so good!

part of the hockey group

Next was the USU hockey game against San Diego. We won!

Troy was there too!

While we were there, Brittany and Bryson came to meet up with Trevor and I was there to surprise them!
It was so fun to see them again! I haven't seen them since they got married about 5 months ago. I just love them.

We also went to the hockey game Friday night. We won this game too!
I have suddenly become quite the hockey fan  :)
us

After the game, Brittany, Bryson, Cullen (who is also friends with Bryson), Trevor and I went bowling!

I was so stylish

The whole time I felt like I was having deja vu (except we replaced Katelyn with Cullen).
I even took some of the same pictures in memory of the last time we went bowling.

Last time, I spent a good portion of the night trying to get a picture with Bryson.
This time, I got it first thing, before he knew what I was trying to do.

what a great picture of us  :)
And a few more pictures for good measure

typical....
such a fun night

Maybe we can rekindle our friendship in another 3 month-ish when Trevor comes to visit Logan again.
Life has a weird way of coming back around.

Much better friends the second time around
