Time Confusion

The other day I woke up and looked at my clock.

7:38

I leave for work at 7:40

I thought my clock was off, but then I heard Carlie getting ready in the bathroom.
Carlie doesn't get out of bed until I'm walking out the door, so I knew I had slept in.

Why didn't my alarm go off??
I specifically remember setting it the night before.

I immediately went into panic mode.

The first thing I did was text Dr Stevens and Brie to tell them I was running late, but would be there as soon as I could.
I put on my scrubs and was throwing my hair in a quick messy bun when my phone alarm went off.

I looked at the time on my phone.

6:50

I looked at my alarm clock again.

7:50

I was so confused.

I proceeded to check every clock in my apartment, wondering if it was daylight savings and I had missed the memo.

I decided to go with the time on my phone, reasoning that if I had, in fact, missed daylight savings, my phone would automatically adjust to it. Right? But then, why was Carlie already gone for the day?

Still bewildered by the events of the morning, I sheepishly texted Dr Stevens and Brie again to tell them nevermind to the last text I sent.

At this point I was ready for the day, so I enjoyed a leisurely morning waiting for the actual time I would leave for work.

It turns out that it is not daylight savings and Carlie had chosen that day of all days to get up early to go running. What are the odds?

The only thing I can figure is that I actually changed the time on my alarm instead of my alarm time.

But the story doesn't stop there!

I got to work right on time, but Brie, who is usually the first person there, was about 15 minutes late.
It turns out that she really did over sleep and my text had woken her up! We were both off for the rest of the day.

But wait, there's more!

Carlie ended up going to work 2.5 hours early!

I guess time is not our strong point.
