I designed this on Illustrator tonight. Then I redesigned my blog. It's still kind of a work in progress.

Just keeping the creative juices flowing  :)

New Post

This weekend Trent came up to visit! We went to Costa Vida, and last basketball game of the season (we won). Trent's brother was one of the camera guys for the game, so we got a personalized tour of the Hall of Fame building where all the cool sports stuff is. We got to look out from the box seats of the football field and then drove out onto the field where we danced and played. It was pretty cool. we also went to a birthday party for some girl that none of us knew and went hot tubbing (it was not very hot) in freezing cold weather. Good times.

That's really all that has happened this week, so we'll go back and cover the last two weeks.

For Valentines Day, Katelyn, Brittany and I decided to celebrate our singlehood by going to the Lady Antebellum concert. Thompson Square and Darius Rucker also performed so it was a great show! I don't like large crowds or loudness, so I really am not a huge concert fan, but this was a good one.

We picked up two other friends in Salt Lake (where the concert was) and went to Rumbi before the concert started. It was packed but the food was so good!

This is from our seats at the concert. It's the only picture I have because my camera died right after I took it.

For those of you who aren't sure who Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker and Thompson square are, here is a little bit of their songs. Feel free to skip them if you want.

My favorite song

We got home from the concert just after midnight and I quickly packed my bag to leave for Coeur d'Alene at 7:00 that morning. I hate packing and I am known for putting it off until the last minute. Usually I begin packing as the rest of my family is getting into the car to leave. Unfortunately, I was so focused on packing quickly that I forgot my camera was dead so it is still dead two weeks later. Even more sad is that when I rolled out of bed at 6:45 in the morning and walked out the door, I forgot to grab my Nikon, so I have no pictures from my trip. I had been planning on bringing my Nikon and getting some good pictures of my nieces and nephews as well as practice some newborn shots since I decided I was going up there! Alas, it was not meant to be. Despite my lack of pictures, it was an amazing trip and I was so sad to leave! Here are some pictures that I stole from my parents and brothers blog.

Adalie Jane and Maren Mckinley

I got Maren to sleep and we took good long nap together.

Evelyn got a new bunkbed and it was the main attraction for the kids.

Skyping with Griffin, Ashland and Zoey

Jackson and Maren

Addy and Evelyn both wanted to sit on my lap, so we compromised. Of course, Jack had to get in on the lap sitting too. It was a great game  :)

Another popular game was Doggy Doggy, one of my favorites when I was little.

The contraption that Logan made for Rachel. What a thoughtful husband.

Logan and Rachel make elaborate meals, both in taste and presentation. This was just the fruit we had for breakfast one morning.

Making food!

In our hoods, ready for a walk!

Another fancy breakfast

Holding Maren! I was her favorite  :)

One of my favorite parts of this trip was doing Evelyn and Addy's hair every day. This day, they decided to were mine and Grandpa's shoes to complete their look.

Evelyn turned 4! (This was her birthday party)

At the children's museum. Mostly we just used the kids as an excuse to play with all the cool toys that they had there, haha!

Purple day with matching bows! (we struggled to get a good picture of this one)

I need to get married so I can have my own kids  :)

Allison's Life (As Told By Katelyn)

I think it's safe to say that Allison's fingernail polish is quite temperamental.

Tucked away in our cozy little apartment, it isn't unusual to find her sitting on the couch, covered in her bright pink blanket, redoing her nails for the 1st (or 2nd) time.

It's highly entertaining.

Most of the time, I like to sit across from her on the couch and watch her do it, while I work on my homework. (That sounds kind of creepy, but it really isn't.)

It's a process.

  • Get rid of the current peeling nail polish.
  • Paint the tip of the nail white.
  • Use a q-tip and nail polish remover to create the perfect curvular shape.
  • Blow dry.
  • Cover entire nail with a clear coat.

She doesn't do all of her nails at the same time. Usually it's only two or three. Sometimes more, depending on the day.

Regardless, within a few hours, it seems as though one of those pesty buggers always seems to fall off. Even during stake conference.

In other news...

Allison's life is quite wonderful!

Although I've never actually been to or seen her work, she always comes home happy -- and it seems to be going very well. I'm always hearing random, funny, or interesting stories about the going-ons in the office. And I particularly enjoy the cookies that she brings home to me sometimes. (Those things are good stuff.)

This weekend, Allison joined Britt and I on her first-ever Fat Friday (which is a fancy way of saying girls night out at a restaurant). We went to the Olive Garden and ate a ridiculous amount of salad and bread sticks. Afterwards, we came home and watched Finding Neverland.

Yesterday, Allison was incredibly productive.

She has made it a habit to clean the kitchen and living room on her day off. (Which we all appreciate mucho grande.) She also did some laundry as well. To finish off her streak, she made all of us some yummy macaroni. Later, we all went to stake conference. We were in the 2nd row, which meant we had to be on our best behavior because the stake president could see us clearly.

Afterwards, we both rushed home, and our dates came and picked us up a few minutes later.
We spent the night eating pizza and then playing pool.

Apparently Allison is really good at spaz. In fact, she was so good that one boy in particular was getting frustrated, because she beat him. It was pretty epic.

Which brings us to today. This morning was stake conference, then we all came home, took naps, and have been really boring ever since. Allison did get to level 10 on tetris though, that was pretty cool. She taught me how to play, which was dangerous, because now I'm afraid of getting addicted. I've seen what that game has done to too many of my friends to let myself get attached.

As for this coming week, Britt, Allison, and I are all going to the Lady Antebellum concert on Tuesday...to celebrate our lack of boyfriends on Valentines day. And then later this week, Allison is headed up to Rexburg, to join her dad, to head up to her brother's, to meet her new niece.

Consider yourself updated! :)

Random pictures (by Allison):

Happy Birthday Patux!

Katelyn and I were invited to some guys apartment for hot wings and games. We made a deal that if we won the game we could sign our names on the table. I don't think they thought we had a chance, but they didn't know what they were up against. I completely dominated

Another puzzle that Britt and I finished in only two days!

PhotoShop

I was bored tonight, so Katelyn gave me a picture of her to PhotoShop. I went all out! It was so much fun  :)

This is the picture she gave me. She is naturally beautiful, but as I said before, I was bored....

This is what I came out with.

Here is the side-by-side before and after.

I suggest clicking on them to bring them into the separate window and clicking through them. You can really see the changes and it is so cool!

I want to be a professional PhotoShopist  :)

Six-Pack

I want to get a six-pack this year (like I say every year), so I've been doing crunches and sit-ups. Yesterday was the first day that my abs were even mildly sore. What really hurts is my tailbone! I have now officially worn my poor little tailbone away to where it actually started bleeding!  :(  This could preset a road block to my six-pack goal.

I need to get one of those donuts to sit on.
